We love a good trend. (note the word good) The Anthroplogie rock, this week's rapture... hell even 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday' was ok to start with. But not all trends are worth jumping on, and the new Instagram reel size that seems to be blowing up this week is one of those trends we're swerving! In case you missed it, people have started posting 5120x1080 Reels. They look like this 👇 There are 3 reasons you might wanna avoid following this trend...1) People watching without sound won't see your post!Captions take over the whole image on a post this size, so that the gorgeous graphic you spent hours on can't be seen because the captions from the music you painstakingly chose have covered it up. Like this 👇 2) Taking up LESS real estate on your audience's screen is a weird move.It means that while they might see your skinny post, if your caption isn't long enough to fill the screen, they might also have your competitors on the screen at the same time! Not ideal 3) Pattern disruptors only disrupt when they're unique... this already isn't!It's a new trend, but already the world and his wife are using it. So the likelihood of it having long-term success is slim to none. Remember how quickly you got bored with Jet2? Same! In marketing, it's always better to Zig when others Zag (or is it the other way around? 🧐) However... we did find one 5120x1080 Reel we really liked, from our pal Emelie at Pass The Queso... 🤣 (Emelie is hosting the November masterclass inside The Inner Hub - it's all about how you can get double the sales without writing twice the number of emails - if you're not already a member, you can join us here.) Let us know your thoughts on the crazy 5120x1080 Reels trend... will you still be using it? If you do, let us know if it worked for you! Speak soon, Laura x 2 ~ The two Lauras

I still remember the exact moment this strategy blew my tiny mind. I’d been running a business for over a decade, but somehow this had never crossed my radar. I was listening to a podcast, sitting in traffic and… bam... I've never forgotten it. The strategy itself was painfully simple: Offer someone something else the moment they’ve bought something from you. That’s it. The podcast used an example of a venue offering a drinks package immediately after someone bought tickets. Hearing how much...
Look… we’re just going to say it. 2025 has been a lot. Not “ha ha that was wild” a lot…but the kind where you find yourself staring out of a window at 11am thinking,“Maybe I’ll just go work at the local cat rescue” … even though you don’t even like cats. But guess what? Somehow, despite Instagram having identity crises every five minutes, clients sending “quick question!!!” messages every 5 minutes, you’re still here. Still showing up.Still doing your work.Still keeping your business alive...
