📌 Try this next time you write a post — it works

You’ve probably seen a million posts saying “steal this hook”, but they never say HOW you could use it yourself, or (more importantly) WHY it worked, which is the bit that actually matters.

Today, we thought we'd dive into one of our recent posts that did really well 👇

Let's break down the hook so you can try your own version.

Someone told us they think CTAs are spammy so they don't use them... so we wrote a list of non-spammy ones!

It worked because:

  1. It called out a common belief lots of people have, but it didn’t point the finger at the reader. Using a bit of distance (“someone told us”) made it safe for readers to nod along without feeling attacked and comment without looking silly.
  2. It challenged the common belief by offering something that was the opposite of the belief. (They thought CTAs were spammy; we promised non-spammy options)
  3. It opened a loop and made people want to swipe for the solution.

But we didn't stop there...

By relating the content to something else that would help solve another common problem (reusing old content), the CTA to grab our related freebie became stronger because people understood how it was relevant.

What you can't see from the vanity metrics is that over 100 people joined our email list from this single post 🥳 (maybe you're one of them?)

If you want to try this in your next post, steal this formula:

Someone told me [belief or problem that your audience has], so I [solve the problem]

Once you've delivered on it, be sure to add your own CTA with something helpful they can save or use. Add a keyword to get people in your DMs to deliver the link if you're using a messenger bot. (Did you know Hubsy can do this for you?)

Let us know if you're gonna try it! Tag us if you do 😊

Desk with calculator, notebook, pencil, and glasses.

I still remember the exact moment this strategy blew my tiny mind. I’d been running a business for over a decade, but somehow this had never crossed my radar. I was listening to a podcast, sitting in traffic and… bam... I've never forgotten it. The strategy itself was painfully simple: Offer someone something else the moment they’ve bought something from you. That’s it. The podcast used an example of a venue offering a drinks package immediately after someone bought tickets. Hearing how much...

Look… we’re just going to say it. 2025 has been a lot. Not “ha ha that was wild” a lot…but the kind where you find yourself staring out of a window at 11am thinking,“Maybe I’ll just go work at the local cat rescue” … even though you don’t even like cats. But guess what? Somehow, despite Instagram having identity crises every five minutes, clients sending “quick question!!!” messages every 5 minutes, you’re still here. Still showing up.Still doing your work.Still keeping your business alive...
