⏳ You’ve got 14 days before the magic wears off

Welcome back to our 'one small thing' series, where we share one small thing to help you, your business, or your client's business!

Let’s talk about the dopamine high of a client win.

You know the one...
💥 A post goes viral or sales are up, and they actually notice.
💬 They send you a message saying, “Omg you’re amazing”
👏 They thank you like a normal, appreciative human

In that moment, they LOVE you.
And you’re glowing, obviously.

But here’s the thing no one mentions.
Their gratitude has a shelf life shorter than the viral M&S strawberry sandwich.

This expiry issue is called reciprocity decay.

It’s a fundamental psychological principle, and it matters to your business.

The longer you wait to ask for something in return — a testimonial, a case study, a review, even a shoutout — the less likely it is you’ll get it.

That's why we ALWAYS tell people never to wait until the end of a client relationship to ask for a case study!

So here’s your one small thing this week:

👉 Scroll through your messages.
Find that recent client who said something nice.
And ask them if you can use their words as a testimonial ASAP, before their reciprocity expires, and they forget how amazing you are.

Seriously. Do it today!

And then every time you have a reason, ask for the review, case study etc, before it's too late!

P.S. Our own case study coach, Jocelyn Montemarano, has recorded a special masterclass exclusively for our Inner Hub members. You'll learn how to craft your case study questions to get the best possible responses from your clients and all the details you need to include in a case study. And you'll learn how to craft a compelling story you can use in your emails, social posts, or services page! It'll be available in the member's portal soon - if you're not already a member, come and join us!

Welcome back to our 'one small thing' series, where we share one small thing to help you, your business, or your client's business! Let’s be honest: most people aren’t properly reading your social media posts. At best, they’re scanning. And when they do read them, they’re processing your copy at the level of a 9-year-old. 😳 So, as a social media manager (or ads manager) simplifying your copy matters is really important because: 1️⃣ Confused people don’t convertIf your message isn’t instantly...

Ever buy something expecting it to be a bit “meh”… but end up completely obsessed? That’s exactly what happened when I told Laura D we should try the Email Remix Wizard (created by our pals Justin & Sarah at Wake Up To Freedom). I'd hoped it might help a little here and there when we wanted to talk about something we'd mentioned in emails before. But honestly, it’s been blowing my mind because: The emails it writes actually sound like us! Most AI tools butcher tone, but this one is spot-on,...
